John brings decades of experience in business sales and acquisitions, leasing across commercial, industrial, and rural sectors, and property transactions including rural and residential. He also specialises in family trusts, asset protection, succession planning, and has deep expertise in wine industry law—covering sales and acquisitions, restructuring, marketing, and governance.

Outside of his legal work, John is a former international wine judge and consultant, with a long history of involvement in the wine industry. He enjoys travel, fine wine and food, classical music, trail biking, and keeping active at the gym. He and his wife Christine have six daughters and eight grandchildren.
