Maritsa hails from Cape Town, South Africa. She qualified as a Registered Legal Executive in 2012, graduated with a law degree from Victoria University of Wellington in May 2020, was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in August 2020.

Maritsa is fluent in Afrikaans, and welcomes enquiries from South African expats.
